Other chicken recipes you will love:

Lemon fried chicken is a simple, budget friendly recipe that anyone can make. It works great with fries as well as mashed and boiled potatoes but my favorite way to serve this recipe is next to a big, healthy bowl of salad. Some might even choose to make a dip, sauce, homemade mayonnaise or serve it with a dollop of sour cream.

This is probably the best chicken recipe you can make! Kids love it, adults love it, it’s so tasty, everyone will ask for more. Simple to make, this timeless lemon fried chicken is bursting with flavors! And the whole secret is just a good soak in lemon juice.

What does lemon do to the chicken?

The acid in lemon juice helps tenderize the meat, making it more succulent and flavorful. Add a little salt and pepper to this recipe and you’re on your way to creating the most amazing chicken ever! You can also add other herbs or spices like garlic powder or paprika for an extra kick of flavor.

What is the secret to perfect fried chicken?

Well, it’s all in the coating! This recipe uses a combination of flour, eggs and breadcrumbs for a crispy and flavorful crust. The chicken is also breaded twice to ensure an extra crispy exterior. Don’t skip this step as it makes all the difference!

Another secret is to heat the oil to the right temperature. If the oil is too hot, the outside of the chicken will cook too quickly while the inside remains undercooked. On the other hand, if it’s not hot enough, your chicken will be greasy and soggy. Heat the oil to a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit for perfectly crispy and golden chicken.

Can lemon chicken be frozen?

Yes, you can freeze this lemon fried chicken recipe. After it’s cooked, let it cool completely and then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or foil before placing it in a freezer-safe container. It will keep for up to 3 months in the freezer.

To reheat, simply bake in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15-20 minutes until warmed through and crispy. You can also reheat in an air fryer for about 5-7 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

So next time you’re looking for a quick and easy chicken recipe, give this lemon fried chicken a try! It’s sure to become a family favorite. And don’t forget to pair it with your favorite side dishes and sauces for a complete meal. Here are some of my recipes:

  1. Here in Australia we also have chicken Schnitzels also beef ones . Nearly every PUB has it on their menu .

  2. Hello Petro, I was wondering, instead of frying the chicken, could the chicken be baked instead? If so, at what temperature would you recommend? And have you tried dipping the chicken in a ranch sauce?
    Thank you!

    1. Hi, Mara. I never tried baking it so I can’t offer any insights, I’m sorry.

  3. Enough BS says:

Why don’t you just post the recipe? People don’t care about all the other BS or what you ate when you were a kid or why a dish reminds you of summer. Oh where’s the recipe? On the 2nd page of the page titled “recipe”. Duh! Gotta keep those clicks up and that bounce rate low, right?

    1. Hello. Not sure what your problem is but the recipe is listed in the article, in the recipe card. For those as impatient as yourself, there’s also a Jump to recipe button at the top of the article. Since you sound like a person who obviously knows a thing or two about how websites work, your comment sure comes up as spiteful.
