The Ultimate Baked Meatballs In Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
For the meatballs:

lb
lean ground pork
1/2
cup
homemade bread crumbs
1
small onion
finely chopped
5
small garlic cloves
smashed
1
egg
pinch
of salt
pinch
of pepper
handful of fresh parsley
finely chopped
1/4
cup
milk
optional, if you find the mixture too thick
cooking spray
baking pan
For the sauce:
2
tablespoons
vegetable oil
2
small onions
diced
4
garlic cloves
crushed
7
fl oz tomato sauce
2-3
tablespoons
sugar
salt and pepper to taste
1
cup
water
2
cups
fresh parsley
chopped
You will also need:
non stick skillet
spatula
cutting board
mixing bowl
bamboo spoon
kitchen knife
blender
heat resistant glass baking dish
Instructions
Prepare and bake the meatballs as indicated in this recipe.
While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce.
Heat the oil in a skillet and saute onions and garlic until glassy.
Add tomato sauce, water, salt and pepper to taste
Add sugar, first 2 tablespoons and taste. If needed add one more tablespoon. If not continue cooking on low about 10-12 minutes.
Allow to cool a little, then mix with a blender until smooth.
Add 1 cup parsley and blend until smooth.
Add meatballs to the baking dish and pour the sauce.
Bake in the middle of the oven at 390 F for about 15 minutes or until the sauce gets a little crust.
