How to bind a quilt perfectly with an easy hem tape trick

Quilt binding can sometimes seem like a daunting task, but with the right approach and some helpful tips, you’ll be able to bind your quilts like a pro in no time.

Materials

– Quilt or a scrap to practice on – Binding strip – Pape backed hemming tape – Matching thread

1.

Sew the binding on one side of the quilt with a ¼" seam allowance. Fold to the other side.

2.

Grab the paper backed hemming tape and fuse it to the edge of the binding or to the seam

3.

Once applied it should be covering the initial seam like this.

4.

Remove the paper backing.

5.

Fold the binding over the hem tape so that it's slightly over the seam.

Using your hands and the iron, press the edge of the binding to fuse.

Flip the quilt and stitch in the ditch
