  1. Where do you get the gelatin ?

    1. Petro Neagu says:

Terri, it should be availabe in any grocery store. Walmart has it for sure.

  2. Lorraine Dicesare says:

Hi there, I want to make these for my 60th Bday party. I want to place them on the table as their gift. Do they melt? Will they melt in the sun? When in use (open) they dont melt?

    1. Hi Lorraine. They shouldn’t melt. They dry out in time and reduce in size until the size of a pebble & harder.

  3. Connie F Mattice says:

First, thank you for sharing. I can’t wait to make these. I want to make small jars for party gifts. I’m holding off making them for now, since I’m not sure how long they’ll sit in the jar (with lid) before they’re no longer good/gel. Do you have an idea as to how long they’ll last before using them?

    1. Hi, Connie! Making them in small jars is a great idea for gifts! I’ve had mine in medium jars for months, one even lasted for more than a year & was still good. I guess their shelf life depends on the quality and expiring datd of the gelatine & vodka as well as the environment (they’ll keep better in a dry room than in one with high humidity).

      1. Connie F Mattice says:

        Excellent! Thank you again.

  4. Essential says:

Thanks for sharing knowledge with us!

  5. The instructions say to wait until the gelatin is at room temp before adding the oils and coloring. Won’t the gelatin set up by then?

    1. Hi Meg. It would depend on the type of gelatin you use. Mine wasn’t set until after about an hour or so. If unsure try adding the oils when gelatin is still warm but not hot.

  6. About how long do these last?

    1. Hi Kasey. As strange as it may seem I still have a tiny bit of gel left in one of the large jars. It doesn’t smell as fragrant but still does and it hasn’t gone bad. I made these a few good months ago, in early fall 2017 if I’m not wrong.
