- Wooden Spoon Spatula: This will serve as the base for your uncle Sam’s head.
- Craft Stick: This will be used to create the body of uncle Sam.

Substitutes for Materials
Don’t have all the materials listed above? Don’t worry, there are some substitutes you can use for certain items. For example, if you don’t have a wooden spoon spatula, you can use a regular wooden spoon or even a plastic one. You can also get creative with the colors of paint and embellishments, using what you have on hand to make your uncle Sam unique.
Equipment you’ll need
In addition to the materials listed above, you will also need the following equipment:
- White Craft Foam: This will be used to make uncle Sam’s beard and hat.
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks: These will help secure all the pieces together.
- Paintbrush: Use this to apply the paint onto your craft.
- Scissors: You’ll need these to cut out the foam and cardstock.
- Pencil: Use this to trace the patterns onto the foam and cardstock.
- Ruler: This will help you make precise measurements for your craft.
- Wooden spoon uncle Sam patterns: I made a template for this craft, which you can find here or create your own using simple shapes.
