Marinated Meatballs In Sauce For Spaghetti
If you need a simple but yummy recipe for your spaghetti, these marinated meatballs in tomato sauce are the perfect choice! So delicious and filling this Italian meatball sauce will become your go to recipe for any pasta dish!

When I made these baked meatballs in sauce I had a few other versions in mind too, slightly different but just as delicious! These marinated meatballs was one of them and I finally got the chance to try it one day when decided it’s time for a spaghetti dinner! And I’m so happy I did because these turned out so much better than the other ones!

Marinated Meatballs In Sauce For Spaghetti
Ingredients
For the meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup homemade bread crumbs
- 1 small onion finely diced
- 5 small garlic cloves smashed into a puree
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- handful of fresh parsley finely chopped
- 1/4 cup milk optional, if you find the mixture too thick
- cooking spray
- baking dish
For the sauce:
- 17 oz canned tomatoes pureed
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 small onion finely diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 small bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Instructions
- Prepare the meatballs and bake as indicated in this recipe.
- While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce. Heat the oil in a non stick skillet.
- Add diced onion and saute until glassy.
- Add pureed tomatoes, tomato paste and all herbs and spices. Cook for 5 minutes on stove, on medium heat.
- When the meatballs are ready, transfer the meatballs and the sauce in a baking dish.
- Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the sauce gets a thin crust.
- Serve warm, simple sprinkled with fresh chopped parsley or basil or as a sauce for spaghetti or other pasta dishes.

This version of beef meatballs in sauce is courtesy of my mom who used to cook a lot of pasta and meat recipes for us when we were kids. I was such a picky eater but not when we had these yummylicious marinated meatballs on the table! I used to gulp these down in a matter of minutes, much like a hungry wolf!
