Crafting your very own minion bookmark is easier than you think! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Craft Felt – Yellow, Blue, Black, Light Grey
- Wiggle Eyes – Dollar Store
- Twine, Black – Dollar Store
- Dimensional Fabric Paint, Black
- Permanent Marker
- Liquid Fabric Glue
Equipment
To bring the minions to life, here are the key equipment you’ll need:
- Scissors
- Minion bookmark template
- Printer
- Paper sheets
How to Make Your Minion Bookmarks
Follow these simple steps to create your very own masterpieces:
STEP ONE
Download, print and cut out the Minion bookmarks pattern sheet. Trace patterns onto colored craft felt with a permanent marker. If creating with older kiddos you can attach patterns to craft felt with straight pins.
Cut out with scissors, inside the lines, so you have a clean finished project. Make the overalls as long or as short as you like to give your Minions their own personality.
STEP TWO
Lay the cut-out patterns on your work surface. Attach the blue felt overalls and the black felt boots to the Minion body using liquid fabric glue. A low temp glue gun and glue sticks will also work for this project.
STEP THREE
To create the goggles, glue the grey felt eye pieces onto the black felt straps, and then the wiggle eyes. Attach the completed goggles onto the Minion with liquid fabric glue. Some Minions have two eyes and some have one eye.
STEP FOUR
Cut various lengths of black twine to create the Minion’s hair. Attach to the top center of the Minion’s head with a small amount of liquid fabric glue. Give your Minions some individuality.
STEP FIVE
To complete the Minion Bookmarks, add the details. Using a dimensional fabric paint pen, add the mouths, outline the overalls, and add the buttons. Draw the “G” logo onto the bib of the overalls.
Tip
For an extra special touch, use glitter glue to add some sparkle to your minion’s goggles or overalls!
Use what you have on hand to create with the kiddos. Instead of felt, use colored cardstock, carboard and paint, or even colored craft foam. Yarn or embroidery floss would work instead of twine. Add the details with a black permanent marker, or a glitter glue pen.
