I’ve been using this homeopathic cough syrup for Ellie ever since she turned 3 years old with great success. Many of the over the counter remedies were not as efficient as this simple syrup and it took days before we could see any results. This is not the case with this natural treatment for cough; visible results were noticed after the first couple doses. Her cough was completely cured within days! Not bad for a cheap, easy to make, natural cough syrup! And Ellie loves it! In spite of the strong radish smell, it tastes sooo good!

Note: People with diabetes and children under 3 years old should use this with care. Honey can be an allergy trigger.

  1. This is a new home recipe I’d never heard of, not homeopathic remedy

  2. Hello, can i make a batch by grating the radish into a jar and filling with honey and store in the fridge for winter? Will it keep?

    1. Hi Rowan. I never kept mine longer than 2 weeks, not sure it will keep well for longer periods of time.

  3. Mary Dawson says:

Hello, is there any reason you cannot use regular radishes?

    1. Yes, Mary! Those don’t have the same properties. Plus they are spicier.

  4. How often in a day should they drink the honey syrup? Also, how many days?
I’ve heard this homeopathies work so love this better than over counter. Thanks for sharing

    1. Lola, we’re using this 3 times a day for mild symptoms or every 3 hours when symptoms are really bad, especially with frequent coughing.

  5. Kathleen Kalanquin says:

My Grandmother was a Midwife But also made Her own Alixers as well & She Used Onion instead of Radish.

    1. Hi Kathleen. My mom used to make the one with onion but I found it quite hard to ingest, the taste was quite nauseating for me. Other people love it though so I always recommend giving it a try first before dismissing it for good.
