Because this is the type of recipe that’s a total crowd favorite! You can make it as an appetizer in small bowls, or as the main dish of your dinner. What to serve with cheddar beer soup?
It all depends on what you are making this cheddar beer soup for! When I make it as the main dish, I like to top it with some crumbled bacon and some sauteed broccoli florets. Sometimes, I also serve it with some bread on the side so you can dip it and grab even the last bit of creaminess.
If I’m serving it as an appetizer, I prefer to serve the cheddar beer soup recipe with saltine crackers and some raw veggies (think, baby carrots and celery sticks) so there are more options to dip and mix.
How to make cheese beer soup?
There are literally a million different ways to make a cheese beer soup because it’s been around for so long. Some people prefer to only use a combination of beer, milk, and a whole lot of cheese. There are also other options (like this one!) that mix in some other ingredients to make it more interesting.
I like to make it with broccoli and an extra splash of stock to keep it lighter and not as thick. For this recipe, I used white cheddar cheese because the flavor it’s milder than the yellow/orange one. However, feel free to use whichever you have on hand. Both are going to be incredibly delicious.
So make a big bowl of this cheddar beer soup, grab some bread, and enjoy a cozy night in with a big bowl of creamy soup between your hands.
