How to make poached eggs
This is a very simple recipe. The only part that’s a bit more complicated? Poaching the egg!
If you’ve never made poached eggs before you are probably a little bit scared of trying it. I was! But let me tell you that I found a pretty fool proof way that gets perfect poached eggs every single time.
Here’s the secret:
Cover the insides of a mug or small bowl with plastic wrap. Crack open the egg in the middle of the wrap, season and bring the corners of the wrap together, like if you are making a bag to hold the egg. You’ll want to close it and hold it together with your hands.
Then just bring some water to a gentle simmer and hold the little egg bag into the water. Cook for 4 minutes and voila! Perfectly poached eggs. Just place discard the plastic after it and you are all set.
I honestly tried a million different methods to make poached eggs and this is the one that comes out great every single time.
How to make the spicy sauce for the Turkish eggs recipe
The star of this recipe is the spicy sauce! It’s traditionally made with Pul Biber, which is a Turkish chili that’s slightly smoky. However to keep things simple we are using paprika! The end result is almost the same to the traditional one.
To make the sauce we combine some melted butter with paprika in a small pan and let it cook on low heat for around 5 minutes.
How do you eat Turkish eggs?
We love eating them with wholewheat toast with seeds or garlic bread chips but these amazing bread recipes would be a great addition to this breakfast idea too:
