Stunning Nutella Peanut Butter Puff Pastry Flowers

Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry sheet
  • 1 small egg
  • 2 tsp water
  • about 5 tsp Nutella
  • about 5 tsp peanut butter
  • optional - icing sugar for dusting

You will also need:

  • sharp knife of pastry/pizza wheel
  • small bowl
  • fork
  • 9 squares baking paper about 4"
  • pastry/basting brush

Instructions

  • Thaw pastry
  • Pre heat oven at 400 F
  • Break egg and place i a small bowl then whisk with a fork. Add water and whisk
  • Using sharp knife or a pastry/pizza wheel, cut pastry into 9 squares.
  • Taking one square at a time, place on baking paper squares.
  • Brush edges with egg wash
  • Place about 1/2 tsp Nutella in the middle of the pastry square.
  • Top off Nutella with about 1/2 tsp peanut butter.
  • Bring 4 corners together, then repeat for the sides.
  • Shape pastry into a ball then flip.
  • Lightly press the ball with your fingers
  • Grab a sharp knife and cut the pastry in 8.
  • Still using the knife, twist petals 45 degrees, all to the same side. The filling should be showing.
  • Bake in the middle of the oven for about 15 minutes or until pastry is golden.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool before serving. Dust icing sugar - optional.

  1. Nutella Peanut Butter Puff Pastry Flowers — Do you know if these can be made in advance and frozen until ready to serve?

    1. Yes, you can freeze these. But thaw at room temperature (no oven, no microwave) as the Nutella & peanut butter will melt or modify consistency.
